This old time German heirloom from Ruby Arnold of Greeneville, Tennessee is often considered the best flavoured green tomato. This beefsteak variety is slightly flattened and produces 12 to 16 ounce (340 – 454 gr) fruit that ripens to a pale green with a hint of yellow. The superb, sweet juicy flesh with a hint of spiciness has a slight pink blush and a “buttery” texture. Aunt Ruby’s German Green was the 2005 taste test winner at the “Heirloom Garden Show”. These tomatoes are perfect for fried green tomatoes.
