TOMATO, Old German – Heirloom

Introduced in 1985, Old German is a Mennonite family heirloom from the Shenandoah Valley of Virginia. Big regular leaf plant yields 1-2 lb. (454 – 907 gr) beautiful “boat-shaped” fruits. Fruit colour is golden yellow with crimson red mottling and striping on the outside and throughout the flesh. Not the most prolific producer, but the luscious fruit harvested is rich, meaty, and deliciously sweet. Old German is often touted as one of the best slicing tomatoes on the market. Truly beautiful sliced on a plate – highly decorative.
