SQUASH, Winter Butternut Waltham

This AAS winner is by far a garden favourite. It produces heavy yields of 12 inch/31cm, light-tan fruit that keep exceptionally well. Each 3-6lb blocky pear shaped squash has rich, creamy yellow-orange flesh with a delightful, nutty flavour. Not only famous for flavour, this heirloom variety also has good resistance to disease.

Butternut squash is a good source of Vitamin A (beta carotene), Vitamin C and B-complex vitamins, plus potassium, fibre and manganese.
