Tried & True Ipomoea
Few plants can rival ipomoeas or sweet potato vines for durability, everlasting colour, and creating drama in the garden. This ornamental plant is mainly grown for its attractive foliage and is a popular choice for container gardens. Their intensely-coloured foliage come in a variety of colours, including vibrant green, bronze and purple-black, leaf shapes, and growing habits. Heat loving ipomoeas make excellent filler and accent plants in containers, window boxes, and hanging baskets. The climbing vines can be trained up a trellis or other structures, be used as a ground cover, or allowed to drape over edges of planters.
Sweet potato vine is a fast-growing and easy-care plant. It grows best in full sun, but can tolerate some shade. Water regularly and trim back stems when they get too long.
